New Delhi: Despite reports by some media outlets that the government has agreed upon holding Class 12th exam of only major subjects in August 2021, Union Education Minister said the meeting to discuss the matter on Sunday ended without any decision.
Following the consultative meeting with the states and UTs, it was decided that the Centre will examine the suggestions received from the various state governments this week and convey further information in this regard to the students by or before June 1, the Education Ministry said.

Class 12 Board Exam 2021: While lakhs of students are waiting for a final decision on CBSE Class 12 exam 2021, the Centre on Friday set up a Group of Ministers (GoM) to seek states views and recommend whether it is feasible to conduct the exams amid the prevailing gloomy situation due to Covid. The GoM includes Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar and Union Education Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
The GoM is expected to decide whether the CBSE Class 12 exam should be conducted this year. It will send recommendations to the government after seeking the views of all states and UTs.
