British Council Announces New Scholarship For Indian Students, Young Professionals
Ten scholarships worth a total of over 149,000 pound are on offer for Indian students and young professionals to pursue postgraduate studies in the area of Culture Policy and Arts Management at four universities in the United Kingdom.

The British Council has invited applications for a new Creative Economy Scholarship programme. Ten scholarships worth a total of over 149,000 pound are on offer for Indian students and young professionals to pursue postgraduate studies in the area of Culture Policy and Arts Management at four universities in the United Kingdom.

Osmania University’s former Dean of Humanities and head of the English department professor Radhe Shyam Sharma passed away on Monday after a brief illness. Born in Tinsukia, Assam, Prof. Sharma graduated from Gauhati University in 1962 in the throes of the Chinese aggression in India’s North East.
Through a special provision of the Central government, which facilitated students from Assam to pursue studies in Indian universities, Prof. Sharma obtained his post graduate degree in English Literature from OU and bagged the William Shakespeare Gold Medal in 1965.
He joined the university as a lecturer in English in 1965, was instrumental in organising the Young Lecturers’ Association and later completed his PhD. A recipient of the British Council Scholarship in 1973 and the scholarship of the American Council of Learned Societies under the Fulbright programme, he lectured in several American universities and in Mexico.

Newcastle University has announced seven fully funded scholarships for female students of South Asia. These scholarships will be supported by the British Council and will be available for female students from India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, pursuing master’s studies in the field of Climate Change.
The last date to apply for the scholarship is March 26. Applicants must submit forms online.
The British Council has established programmes to support women and girls in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) around the world.
Each of these scholarships will cover full tuition fees, monthly stipends, a return economy class ticket and other study-related costs such as IELTS exam fee, visa application, NHS surcharge and study materials.
