Jessica Meyn launched the Kamloops Cutest Baby contest this fall, and now it s time for everyone to vote for their favourite contestants. There’s a lot of people that are miserable stuck at home right now, Meyn said. I want to spread some joy and make some people smile. The top six vote-getting babies will win a $50 credit towards a photoshoot of their choice or a family photoshoot through Meyn s company All Mine Photography. The top choice will win both the $50 credit and a family photoshoot. 

RCMP looking for owner of valuable wedding ring found in Kamloops | iNFOnews | Thompson-Okanagan s News Source

December 15, 2020 - 3:50 PM A good Samaritan found a valuable wedding ring in Kamloops and turned it in to police in hopes of finding its owner by Christmas. The helpful person reported their find to Kamloops RCMP yesterday evening, Dec. 14, according to an RCMP media release. The ring appears to be of value, however, investigators have searched lists of reported lost items and have not been able to find its owner. Anyone who has lost a ring, and can identify it with a description or picture, is asked to contact Const. Michael Scherpenisse at the Kamloops Detachment at 250-828-3000. Interior Health has identified a case of COVID-19 at Kamloops School of the Arts. The potential exposure dates listed by Interior Health are Dec. 7, 8, 9, and 10, according to their website. When a case of COVID-19 is confirmed, Interior Health will determine close contacts and contact parents/guardians of students who are considered to be at risk. As usual, there is no indication if it s a student, teacher or other person in the school community.  Previously, a case was identified at Westsyde Secondary Dec. 1 and NorKam Secondary School Nov. 14. December 16, 2020 - 10:38 AM A flight from Kamloops had a passenger aboard with a confirmed case COVID-19, meaning those seated nearby will have to self monitor for symptoms for the next two weeks. There was a potential exposure on Air Canada Jazz flight 8195, flying from Kamloops to Vancouver on Dec. 8, the B.C. Centre for Disease Control reported. The rows affected are three to nine.  Passengers on a domestic flight with a COVID-19 case should self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days.. British Columbians have been advised to minimize travel within the province or outside of the province because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the BCCDC said.

Fast & Furious actor Tyrese Gibson gives his hotel rooms to a homeless Kamloops family | iNFOnews

He decided to put them to good use. In a video posted to his Instagram page, the star explained that he d seen a homeless family of six outside in -7 C weather, and wanted to offer them his rooms.   I hope that they come in here and feel blessed, he said in the video. Even if it s just for a night and a morning. The family gladly accepted Gibson s offer, and were directed to enter with their room keys through the underground parking to avoid being stopped at the front desk.
