Pelley good evening. This is our west earn edition. Were going to start with the good news in todays job report. The Unemployment Rate is down and for the right reason more people are finding work. The bad news is job creation is slowing sharply raising concerns about the economic recovery. The economy added only 113,000 jobs last month, that was well below expectations. At the same time, though, the Unemployment Rate dropped a tenth of a point to 6. 6 and that is the lowest in five years. Anthony mason has been looking into what all this means. Reporter construction was the biggest job creator in january, 48,000 of them added. In florida, contractor ed elwell says his family Construction Business is surging and builders are hiring. Its obvious to me by virtue of the fact that its hard to get labor right now. In other words, Skilled Labor for the trades that we need and thats generally an indication that work is out there. Were learning more tonight about 19yearold Darion Aguilar who shot and killed two employees at a skateboard shop before turning the gun on himself. His mother calls him a gentle, sweet kid but police say aguilars journal expressed general unhappiness with his life. The gun shop where aguilar purchased the gun tells cnn that the 19yearold visited the shop twice in december. On his first visit aguilar purchased a shotgun for 430 in cash, plus two boxes of ammunition and a couple weeks later aguilar returned for another box of shotgun shells. I was born and raised with these competitors that told me the restrictions in the country were like that. I couldnt believe it then, i think they still resonate to that direction. Confident. A 16yearold and a 17yearold. The 16yearold turned himself in just about an hour ago. Thats what were being hold by police. The 17yearold was arrested at his home in south philadelphia, shortly after the shooting. Anderson, they were able to find him by looking at surveillance tape from the gym. That is where the shooting actually took place. Police tell us from looking at the tape, its unclear if the shooting was intentional, or if it was accidental. In any case, administrators were able to look at the tape, identify the 17yearold student. They pulled his address, dispatched police out to his house. They were able to make that arrest. What theyve been unable to do at this point is find the handgun that was used in the shooting, whether it be intentional or accidental. So is there any indication of a motive here . Thats a good question. Still early on in the investigation. Police are still trying to determine what the motive was, if any, if it was intentional, if there was a
