Were starting out cool this morning in the trivalley, checking out whats going on in dublin, and we are seeing some clear visibility for now. We will see some light, patchy fog drifting by, but it will be slightly cooler today. And by tomorrow well have a very cold morning. Some of us may be starting out near freezing. Our dry weather does continue at least throughout the weekend. Well talk about whats ahead coming up. Mike, how is it looking right now for the commute . Kari, its looking really great right now as we look at the bay bridge toll plaza. Very light volume now and i expect for the earlier morning commute maybe 6 00, 6 15 well see slowing. Well watch that. The maps show no major issues around the bay. Maybe a little fog in the north bay.

The deeper we get into the morning commute the less likely youll run into that. We have patches of drizzle and light rain to contend with. A bit of fog out there as we try to keep things damp. New overnight in San Diego County firefighters in Rancho San Diego stopped the spread of a fastmoving brush fire that destroyed one structure. It started just before 11 00 last night. It grew quickly to 25 acres fanned by santa ana winds. Residents in the area have been evacuated. Earlier last night San Diego Gas and electric shut off power to tens of thousands of customers because of the wildfire risk. In Orange County more than 240 firefighters are battling this 1,500 acre blaze. It is threatening homes. Mandatory evacuations have been issued for several areas this started with a house fire and the embers sparked new fires. More than 100,000 americans are hospitalized with covid19 this morning. Moderna will ask the fda for emergency authorization use for its covid19 vaccine today. The massachusettsbased Company Released its latest trial results just an hour ago. It says so far it found the vaccine is just over 94 effective. Moderna following pfizer in requesting emergency authorization use. The fda is scheduled to discuss pfizers vaccine next week and they could do the same for moderna on the 17th. We have assembled the abc vaccine team to bring you the most complete coverage and updates as they come in. Surging covid19 cases means that San Francisco and san mateo counties have to roll back to the most restrictive purple tier and that means those two counties are part of the statewide curfew for purple. Gyms also have to operate only outdoors. Top attractions like the academy of sciences are closed. Indoor worship not allowed in purple tier counties.
