Road ministry to bid out BOT projects of up to Rs 2 lakh crore by March 2024: Gadkari

Addressing the annual conference of Highways Operators Association of India, road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari said the government will move to a GPS-based toll collection by March next year. The move is aimed at reducing traffic congestion and charging motorists for the exact distance travelled on the highways, he said.

If the situation continues, the corporation may lose all of its equity of VND3.25 trillion by late 2022, said VNR Chairman Vu Anh Minh. At a conference on January 8 to discuss the firm’s plans for 2021, Minh said VNR earned revenue of nearly VND6.6 trillion last year, equal to 78.3% of the figure in 2019. Of the total, the parent company generated over VND1.7 trillion, reaching 81.69% of the target and 66.6% of the revenue in the previous year, Tuoi Tre Online newspaper reported.
