"As citizens or courts, we need to have a certain level of confidence in the governance process. It has to be kept alive," the Court said while hearing a plea against a State proposal to develop a park in a race course.
Kewal Kiran Clothing Limited (KKCL), the company which owns Killer Jeans, filed a commercial suit before the High Court on January 18 seeking ₹25 crores in damages.
The Court noted that the student donated ₹5000 towards the welfare of stray dogs and observed that continuing the case would mar the student's career prospects.
The Bombay High Court also observed that there had been a rise in immoral trafficking cases and that the accused deserved no leniency in terms of the punishment imposed on him.
Single-judge Justice Bharati Dangre passed the order after government authorised UTI Infrastructure Technology and Services Limited (UTIITSL) filed a copyright infringement suit.
