s.w.a.t. teams race to the scene after getting reports of gunshots coming from a building on 9th street. ktvu s tara moriarty joins us live from the scene on details of the men being detained. reporter: six hours ago this was a very tense situation. you had police perched up here on the tops of the buildings. they had to close down the freeway over here. you can see the headlights of folks coming off the offramp there. just to the right of that is the apartment building where police say that two men started shooting rifles and then jumped rooftops until they ended up over here and were eventually forced down. the two suspects climbed down the fire escape where they were taken into custody around 1:00 this morning. this is after a two-hour stakeout on 9th between bryant and harrison. neighbors were in lockdown for nearly four hours. no one was allowed to leave or come into this area of soma. there were a lot of round going off in succession. so there were five or six round
