But one deputy was critically hurt when he was hit by a second deputys car after Authorities Say a gunman with an ak 47 style rifle opens fire at a Sonoma County sheriffs car, deputies confront the suspect. We see hands. The suspect responds with more gunfire, even as other deputies converge on him near santa rosa. Just after midnight on march 4th. Got one subject in the car moving around a lot. Shots fired. Deputy then returns fire. And what would be the first of several exchanges of gunfire during a harrowing confrontation .
