one. dana: yes. another one rumored to be on the short list. there are some persuadables, as they are called in the political world, in the hispanic community. his speech is about concept, principles, freedom, why he got here and why he wants to work to make the country better again. i will be great. i don t expect to be rolling on the floor laughing like with chris christie. bob: don t want to lose greg here. get greg here. greg: thanks, bob. he is an opening band. he doesn t have a lot to lose. a lot of people think he is in the miami sound machine. they don t know who he is. his role is refute identity politics. he has to go out there and say, you know, we were once a melting pot. but obama turns us to 31 flavors. bob: he played bass in that group. kimberly: american dream.
bob: not at all. i ll tell you why. first, it s not the tea party he represents. a lot of this agree with the tea party. more than that, is he a good surrogate? can he go after obama well? yes. christie is a guy to make mistakes. when you get would up, the tea party, calm him wound up he could make a mistake. i wouldn t surprised if he didn t. dana: he will bring the crowd to their feet. they have been pent up and wait for the moment, fear of delegate in the republican national community. ready to rock tomorrow night. ann s speech is important but this brings them to their feet. not just because he delivers a good line. he will talk about how good policy and effective governing and working across the aisle, the teacher tenure piece he finished a few weeks ago that republican governors lead the way when it comes to better government. that is what he will talk about.
background. if he crosses the threshold one thing he has going for him that few challengers have, he is safe. in other words, he is passed out already. now can he get people to identify with him? that is the issue. dana: kimberly, what do you think? kimberly: i want him to move people. he has a unique opportunity to connect. people feel they don t know romney. i would like him to move numbers in terms of the favorability. he should be doing better an i hope it produces results he needs to get ahead a little bit. bob: he will get a butch out of this. eric: conservatives know it s time to fire obama. but do they know it s time to hire romney? romney needs to point out that we have seen this movie before. we watched it for four years and seen unemployment and you didn t build it. try something new. get a different movie. romney is the new movie and more interesting than the last four years. he has to point out difference between mitt romney and four more years.
