A 30yearold woman has been arrested after a nineyearold boy was shot last night. It happened last night at 20th and hadley. The boy was shot in the back. Were told the shooter was just 6 yearsold he apparently grabbed a loaded gun and fired. Police say the woman who was taken into custody could face charges of leaving a loaded firearm near children. Today city leaders joining mayor tom barrett in announcing whats being hailed as a five year, five Million Dollar violence prevention effort. Officially called the resiliency in communities after stress and trauma grant, the money comes from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health services administration, the money would be used to address the issues which contribute to violence like poverty and unemployment. Item 1 is a initiative oar from the mayor for the proposed Initiative Ordinance submitted are by the mayor for the voters for june 7, 2016 for election entitled ordinance mending the planning code to maximize inclusionary or Affordable Housing and Economic Feasibility studies.
