Yeah. Those hot temperatures have been a real challenge as has the rugged terrain. Now that the sun is coming up, they are going to get a better look at exactly where this fire does now stand. This fire is now 80 contained. But it is roaring within those containment lines. The wragg fire has been burning for a week, 10. 5 square miles. 7,000 acres burned. This is southwest of Lake Berryessa. Yesterdays flareup in the Wild Horse Canyon area forced about 200 people to evacuate their homes. Overnight firefighters have been trying to reel it back in. The rocky fire in lake county has grown to nearly the size of San Francisco. It is 27,000 acres. More than 42 square miles and it is 5 contained. 50 buildings have gone up in flames. Half of them homes. Thousands more are threatened. A triple digit temperature, very low humidity. Winds that are helping push this fire through really steep and difficult access type terrain. For some homeowners it is too late for help. Kpix5s andria borba spoke with one woman who lost everything. Reporter as you drive along Morgan Valley road, the blackened hillside becomes overwhelming. By the time our helicopter headed home this evening the amount of smoke had diminished quite a bit and containment has reached 20 but the damage is done. The rocky fire has been burning for six days and scorched 67,000 acres. So far two dozen homes have been destroyed. We get the latest from noelle walker. Reporter it is like a different day out here on the rocky fire than what i experienced yesterday. We drove around much of the perimeter except for the far northern section. The newest section of this fire. It looks so much different. Such a more calm atmosphere than the hustle and bustle of the fire. Earlier we made it to rocky road, thats the road that gave the fire its name to find out what is left.
