Sources tell the San Francisco chronicle that maddy was sexually assaulted and strangled and her body trashed just five minutes before her mom called police. People who searched for maddy over two days, calling her name hoping for her safe return stood in silence tonight. The Community Left flowers and lit up part of the santa cruz coastline with candles. I want to honor her spirit. I hope shes in peace. Reporter police say less than an hour after a surveillance camera spotted her on her scooter in her apartment complex, she was lured to her death. In the last hour or two, we learned crews have managed to make some pretty Good Progress and now, the flames are not spreading. The fire southwest of lake baryessa has burned 7,000 acres. Police were going door to door to make sure everyone got out. At one point, 136 buildings were threatened. But cal fire says everybody should be okay tonight with the triple digit heat tomorrow, firefighters say that the fire could flare up again. It is hard to tell.
