With an increasing number of Covid-19 cases coming to the fore from China, India has upped its ante against the virus and is taking all the necessary precautionary measures. Several states have issued safety advisories asking people to mandatorily wear masks and observe Covid-appropriate behaviour to keep the infection at bay. Masks are also back with political leaders taking the lead by sporting masks at the parliamentary sessions currently underway. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with several ministers and health officials to review the Covid preparedness in the country. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said there are no cases of the BF.7 variant, responsible for the surge in infections in China, in Delhi and said the national capital is prepared with beds and oxygen plants in case the Covid situation spirals out of control.
