BigBang Social aims to empower 100,000 creators and tap vast opportunities in the creator economy: CEO Subramaniam

BigBang.Social, claimed to be India s first creator super-app, offers opportunities for commerce, brand collaborations, upskilling, and a peer-to-peer network for community building to the creator community. Founder Vijay Subramaniam said the main aim of the app is to provide employment opportunities for 100,000 creators within three years. Brands in India spend a significant amount of money on creator-led marketing each year and are being attracted to the reach of creator-driven content that is authentic and relatable, he added.

The creator economy is projected to double from $250bn to $480bn by 2027, and the social media content creator base in India is on track to exceed 100 million this year, outpacing other countries, according to Goldman Sachs and influencer marketing firm Zefmo. Despite the opportunities that social media platforms provide, monetisation remains a challenge for creators, including accessing a diverse range of brands and negotiating fair compensation.
