Using the six-ticket concept, the largest Marion high school, West Port, would end up with roughly 3,400 attendees, or 57% capacity. Dunnellon, one of the smaller high schools, would have 1,500 attendees, or about 25% capacity.
Beth McCall, citing COVID-19 health concerns, was adamant at keeping the tickets set at six per graduate, regardless of school size. However, she relented after Campbell s detailed and spirited speech.
Ultimately the district decided to give 10 tickets to graduates at the three smallest high schools: Dunnellon, Lake Weir and North Marion.
Graduates from the two medium-size high schools, Belleview and Vanguard, will get eight tickets. Students attending West Port and Forest high schools, the two largest, will get six tickets.
