Spread of covid19. In one case alone, a los gatos man with Cystic Fibrosis has been waiting nearly two weeks for his results to come back. Nearly two weeks ago, ricky came down with a if he ever and quickly scheduled a covid19 diagnostic test. Since then his condition hasnt gotten that much better and hes been id lating at home. Ive been sleeping with that 16 hours a day. Ive had achy joints. He has yet to get the results back adding to the uncertainty, he is a Cystic Fibrosis patient making him especially vulnerable during this pandemic. His mother, herself a contact tracer for santa clara county, is puzzled by this disparity. It is unnerving. You dont know who is out there. Who could be infecting you. Locally youre more likely to get a fasterturearound from an academic lab such as stanford or ucsf but public labs can take longer. His medical provider went through Quest Diagnostics which is among the large corporations nationwide now competing. A turnaround time of a week or more does
