Trinamool Congress has written to the election commission over audio tapes of Mamata Banerjee and her Cooch Behar party leader Partha Pratim Ray, which were made public by the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday.

Kolkata:
West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee today sat in protest in Kolkata to protest against the Election Commission s unconstitutional decision to ban her from campaigning for 24 hours.
Mamata Banerjee, still confined to a wheelchair owing to the injuries she sustained last month, arrived at Mayo road in Kolkata around 11:40 am and began her sit-in protest next to a Mahatma Gandhi s statue at the venue.
No Trinamool leaders or supporters were seen nearby.
A senior Trinamool Congress leader, when approached, said, No party leaders are allowed near the site of the protest. She is sitting there alone.
Shiv Sena s chief spokesperson Sanjay Raut expressed solidarity with Mamata Banerjee

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut today alleged that the Election Commission s decision to bar West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee from campaigning for 24 hours was taken at the behest of the BJP.
This was a direct attack on democracy and sovereignty of independent institutions of the country, Sanjay Raut claimed in a tweet.
The Sena s chief spokesperson expressed solidarity with Mamata Banerjee, while calling her Bengal Tigress .
Assembly elections are currently being held in 8 phases in West Bengal.
