Motorists are waylaid by constant flooding on Outer Ring Road with even moderate showers. They are now raising questions on the effectiveness of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike’s maintenance work along the stretch in the aftermath of rain. BBMP officials however said that ‘natural’ flash floods cannot be stopped by them.
Citizens Movement East Bengaluru took to X and said, “One of the Namma Bengalurians met with an unfortunate end in Solang Valley last week as he fell into a 400m gorge. However, Namma Bengalurians are compelled to navigate such death traps daily in Bengaluru, especially in its IT corridors, contributing to our state’s and politicians’ wealth.”
As part of the broader road widening initiative in Mahadevapura, 16 roads were slated for expansion, including Kasavanahalli main road, which has witnessed a surge in vehicle traffic and housing. BBMP undertook the work under the ‘Comprehensive Development of Kasavanahalli Main Road from Sarjapura Main Road to Choodasandra’ project at the cost of 9 crores. Under the project, two roads have been allocated for development- Kasavanahalli Main Road and Lifestyle Road.
