This morning still looking for three suspects after a violent robbery turned deadly. A fourth suspect was killed after police say he led them on a chase and threatened officers with a gun. It started in a homes garage on tuesday afternoon near 120th avenue and i25. Police say the suspects punched the homeowner and pointed a gun at him. Three suspects are police say at least one of them should be easy to spot. A woman with pink hair was in that group. The fourth suspect left on a motorcycle. He eventually crashed and led police on a chase before he was shot. A woman who was just trying to be nice. Ended up getting brutally assaulted. Now
A wildfire is burning thousands southern colorado, this morning. And firefighters are having a hard time getting ahold of it. 9news reporter Tarhonda Thomas is gary, thats exactly how firefighters are describing this fire. Here are some images from our sister station koaa in colorado springs. The flames have burned three thousand acres. And theyre still going. Its so bad the Pueblo County sheriff has recommended the evacuation of the entire beulah valley. Heres a look at a map of that area. The valley is just southwest of the city of pueblo. The red is the evacuation area. The yellow is the preevacuation area. And its gotten past few hours. This fire kicked up at around one oclock, yesterday. We dont know what sparked it. It didnt taken long, though, for the flames to spread. High winds pushed it on, yesterday. Some of the people who were forced from their homes have been sheltered at the state fairgrounds in pueblo. Arizona today the timing was perfect as Hinkley High School students participate in the annual season for nonviolence global campaign. Students heard from the grandson of civil rights leader cesar chavez who led farmworkers movements in california in the 19. Anthony chavez talked to students about peace and serving others. Teachers say its part of the culture of the Hinkley High School students and student body to try to resolve conflicts respectfully. Anthony chavez said he was honored to help students appreciate that message. So what i wanted to tell the youth is their voices do matter, that they can start making change now before they leave this campus.
