Movement ban lifted in Oman, rules for commercial activities revised

In the wake of these new measures, the Royal Oman Police has asked people in the country to continue to follow protocols related to stopping the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Muscat: People began moving around at night from yesterday, after the Supreme Committee eased restrictions to stop the spread of COVID-19.
All commercial activities in the country resumed operations, at 50 per cent customer capacity. However, customers can only enter their premises until 8 pm.
Shops selling foodstuff are exempt from this rule, while delivery and takeaway services are also allowed. However, gyms, sports clubs, and pitch rental facilities (locally known as tartan) will continue to remain shut until further notice.

The Sharjah City and Umm Al Quwain Municipality authorities have intensified inspection targeting beauty parlours, men and ladies salons two days before Eid-Al-Fitr, which will be celebrated on Thursday (May 13), to ensure all precautionary norms related to Covid-19 are adhered to during the festive occasion.
Sheika Shaza Al Mulla, Director of Public Health and Central Laboratory at Sharjah City Municipality, said that the campaign has been intensified over the last two days and 730 beauty parlours and 1650 salons, including both men and ladies, operating within the jurisdiction of civic authorities have been covered under the drive.

The Rajasthan government has ordered all the state-run schools in Jaipur to send their students and teachers to take part in a five-day fair organised by RSS-backed Hindu Spiritual and Service Foundation (HSSF) where girls were being taught about “Love Jihad.”

With the surge in Covid cases, Tamil Nadu has announced ‘Mini Lockdown’ in the state starting from Monday i.e 26th April. The state has imposed strict restrictions under this ‘Mini Lockdown’. Saloons, Beauty Parlours, Gyms, Malls, Theatres, Dine-in at Restaurants are shut from Monday onwards. However, only take-aways are allowed from the restaurants given that food falls under the essential category. This is likely to affect the retail businesses in Tamil Nadu to the core.
Karnataka has also enforced similar restrictions as all the shops are shut down, except the supply of essential commodities like vegetables, dairy products. Even bakeries have been shut. Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have imposed night curfews and barred the public movement from 10pm to 5am.
