St. Helena â Clif Family and Bare Honey received a 2020 Good Food Award for Solar Grown⢠Raw Honey. Harvested from hives located on pollinator-friendly solar farms, this product combines creating healthy habitats and food sources for honeybees, native bees and other pollinators with developing a unique specialty food item.
With 1,928 entries in 16 categories, the Good Food Award winners are recognized for leading the way in quality, sustainability, and socially responsible food production. âItâs an honor to receive a Good Food Award for this product that supports our mission to craft unique regional wine and foods using practices that care for the earth and support sustainable and organic farming methods,â said Linzi Gay, Clif Familyâs General Manager. âOur Solar Grown⢠honey products are particularly important as they support the pollinators essential to food security.â

The pandemic did not keep the Good Food Awards from soldiering on for its 11th annual celebration of independent food and beverage artisans and the Bay Area was well-represented once again, with 27 local winners for products such as beer, charcuterie and cheese.
A virtual ceremony took place Friday in honor of 219 winners, who were judged among nearly, 2,000 entries during a first-ever virtual blind tasting. Among the winners, 44 come from California, and 55% are walking away with awards for the first time.
