Ivermectin advocate solon says prescription on blank paper during distribution a non-issue

endIndex: Metro Mania (CNN Philippines, April 30) For staunch ivermectin advocate and Anakalusugan Party-list Rep. Mike Defensor, prescriptions that were written on a blank paper during the recent distribution of the antiparasitic drug to residents in Quezon City counts as a non-issue. It’s a non-issue, Defensor told CNN Philippines The Source on Friday. It’s a non-issue because you only have four doctors, you have four tables. Alam mo naman yung signature nila (you could easily identify their signatures). Defensor, Sagip Party-list Rep. Rodante Marcoleta, and some physicians from the Concerned Doctors and Citizen of the Philippines led the distribution of ivermectin to residents of Barangay Old Balara on Thursday

Ivermectin prescriptions written on bond paper? Duque says FDA must investigate

By HANA BORDEY, GMA News Published April 30, 2021 10:05am The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) must investigate reports of “token” prescription during the distribution of ivermectin in Quezon City, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said Friday. Duque was reacting to reports that doctors who joined Representatives Rodante Marcoleta and Mike Defensor’s distribution of ivermectin wrote their prescriptions on a piece of paper and not on a prescription pad. “Kung totoo man yon na nakalagay sa isang tissue or bond paper lang, so part of what the FDA needs to do is investigate such reports. The accountability is clear it is the doctor who prescribed it who will answer for his action,” Duque said in an ANC interview.

Who be held responsible if ivermectin recipients have adverse effects?

April 30, 2021 Who should be held responsible in case people who receive the anti-parasite drug ivermectin distributed for free in Quezon City have an adverse effect? For Dr. Maricar Limpin, vice president of the Philippine College of Physicians, doctors, legislators and even the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) should be held accountable in case people get sick because of Ivermectin especially if it is given without a proper prescription. “Sino ang hahabulin ng tao kung magkakaroon ng problema? I think kung pumapayag ang FDA, then they should also be held accountable kasi pinayagan nila. Definitely, ‘yung dalawang congressman who are involved here kasi sila ang nag initiate together with the doctors who are there, they should be held accountable for whatever problems na maaaring mangyari because of that particular activity,” she said in interview with TeleRadyo.
