thanks for joining us. live from right near our msnbc election headquarter. we re tracking these results from primary elections in five states across the country. some calls are here now. in pennsylvania, the projected winner is doug mastriano. the republican nominee, another key race, is now also a january 6th rally attendee. he was at the u.s. capitol on january 6th. in the general he faces the relatively popular pennsylvania attorney general shapiro. we can also tell you the state s republican senate primary remains too close to call. tv dr. mehmet oz is neck in neck with dave mccormick. kathy bar net is trailing in third. many touting the primary win by the number two official in that state john fetterman defeating congressman conor lamb. he is currently recovering from a stroke in the hospital. he is expected to make a full recovery. then there s a call in a giant upset and loss for republican incumbent, madison cawthorn, now as you see on your screen and may have hear
that horrific shooting in buffalo, new york, and now we have church shooting here in california. it s unclear exactly how many victims there are. we re waiting for official numbers or the extent of the injuries of these victims. we re told one person has been detained, one suspect is in custody and that a weapon that may have been involved has been recovered. there is a heavy law enforcement presence at the scene. a source out of orange county tells me that this happened at the geneva presbyterian church in laguna woods. you can see the picture of that church of there. my colleague, bill melugin, you know, sent a relative out there to help get this video. you can see that picture there, you have the fire trucks, the officers. obviously, this is going to be an extensive investigation. now again, this happened in laguna woods. that that city is home to a large retirement community. you have a lot of older people who live in this area. the orange county very s office sheriff s
military aid and humanitarian aid for ukraine, bringing america s support for the effort to nearly 54 billion with no other country having that large of a financial or military or humanitarian commitment, it s expected to pass the senate early next week before heading to the president s desk for signing. that bill along with leaks from the biden administration in recent days seems to underscore just how embroiled the united states has become in the war in ukraine. on may 4th, new york times reported senior american officials said the u.s. provided intelligence that allowed ukrainians to take out as many as 12 russian generals. the next day, an nbc report cited anonymous u.s. officials u.s. intel also helped ukraine sink the flagship of the moskva. there s growing concern the aid the u.s. is providing ukraine could trigger all-out conflict with russia. my next guest re-enforced that fear in a recent column the new york times, they suggest we are no longer in an indirect war
good evening everyone, i m kate bolduan in for erin burnett, ukraine s president zelenskyy declaring tonight as russia faces another setback, new video shows a russian battalion decimated as it tries to cross a series of bridges in northeast ukraine. you can see the riverbank just littered with russian artillery. artillery and tanks. u.s. official says attacks like this are quote-unquote, frustrating, russian efforts to move troops into the donbas region. and according to the pentagon, ukraine has essentially stalled putin s war plans. they have prevented the russians from achieving virtually any of their strategic objectives thus far in the war. we re also getting new images outside kharkiv where ukrainian forces have pushed back russian troops from ukraine s second largest city. check points and buildings once occupied by putin s forces now back in ukrainian control. meanwhile, in the south, told difficult negotiations are still under way to get out some of the seriou
