Ludhiana Girl Wins PM Rashtriya Bal Puraskar for Using Minecraft for School Lessons

A 14-year-old girl from Ludhiana has won the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar on the 72nd Republic Day on Tuesday.
Namya Joshi, a student from the Sat Paul Mittal School, won the prestigious award in the Innovation category for using popular gaming software Minecraft in a unique way. She used the game to develop activity-based learning modules in her school.
Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is the highest award for civilians under the age of 18. Joshi has created multiple lessons on Minecraft on varying topics - from Harry Potter to the Egyptian civilisation.

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], January 27 (ANI): Hemesh Chadalavada, a Class 9 student from Hyderabad has been chosen this year as a recipient of the Bal Shakti Puraskar Award for his unique invention a smart wristband to monitor the elderly and disabled.
Chadalavada said that his journey started with small robots and cars, after which he started to recognise and devise solutions for day to day problems. I first used to make small robots and cars and then started recognizing problems in our daily life. So I started to make innovations which would help the country, he said, adding that he is greatly inspired by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, India s 11th President.

accomplishments in various fields, including arts, culture, archery and swimming. Jyoti Kumari, 16, cycled to her native place Darbhanga district in Bihar from Gurgaon in Haryana covering around 1,200 km with her father on the rear carrier amid the nationwide lockdown in May last year.
She has been awarded for her
bravery. Her resilience had drawn praise from former US President Donald Trump s daughter and then senior White House adviser Ivanka Trump, who had termed it a beautiful feat of endurance and love .

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) awardees via video conferencing today, i.e. Monday (January 25), according to the Prime Minister s Office.
The virtual interaction will take place at 12 pm. 32 applicants from across the country, under different categories of Bal Shakti Puraskar , have been selected for PMRBP-2021.
Union Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani will also be present on the occasion, the PMO said in a statement.

New Delhi [India], January 25 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) awardees via video conferencing on Monday.
According to the Prime Minister s Office (PMO), the virtual interaction will take place today at 12 noon and 32 applicants from across the country, under different categories of Bal Shakti Puraskar , have been selected for PMRBP-2021.
The awardee children are from 32 districts of 21 States/Union Territories. Seven awards have been given in the field of art and culture, nine awards have been given for innovation, and five for scholastic achievements. Seven children have won in the sports category while three children have been felicitated for bravery and one child has been hounored for her efforts in the field of social service.
