KUALA LUMPUR: More states in Peninsular Malaysia have received their supply of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine, Comirnaty, on the second day of the first phase of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.
Negri Sembilan, Kedah, Melaka, Kelantan, Perak, Pahang and Perlis received the vaccine supply on Wednesday.
The immunisation programme started on Wednesday with Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin being the first to receive his jab.
In Kedah, a DHL lorry carrying 2,340 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine arrived safely at 12.40pm yesterday at the Integrated Pharmacy Logistics Unit store of the Langkawi Health Office at the Air Hangat Clinic.

KUALA TERENGGANU: The Covid-19 situation in Terengganu is still under control although the state recorded the highest daily infectivity rates (Rt) in the country last week, says Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (

He said the Ministry of Health was intensifying public health activities in Terengganu to contain the outbreak.
“Although Terengganu was previously a green state, cross-state travel has resulted in increased cases or Rt but the number of cases is still under control,” he told reporters after attending the Emergency Covid-19 Management Technical Committee meeting at the Menteri Besar’s Office in Wisma Darul Iman, here, today.

The Terengganu Health Department has confirmed that a total of 48 health workers at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) here have tested positive for Covid-19.
State Health director Dr Nor Azimi Yunus said all of them had been isolated and given treatment.

KUALA TERENGGANU: The Terengganu Health Department has confirmed that a total of 48 health workers at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) here have tested positive for Covid-19.
State health director Dr Nor Azimi Yunus said all of them had been isolated and given treatment.
She said investigations to identify the cause of the infection were underway and close contacts for the cases had also been screened and isolated.

“Patient treatment management at HSNZ is still ongoing and is under control. The Intensive Care Unit (ICU), operating room and emergency services are also ongoing.
KUALA TERENGGANU (Jan 24): Ten more primary schools in the district have been ordered to close for seven days from today until Jan 30, following findings that individuals who were Covid-19 positive had been to all them.
State Health Department director Dr Nor Azimi Yunus said this was to enable disinfection work to be carried out to curb the spread of the virus.
The 10 schools are Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kesom, SK Bukit Petiti, SK Pulau Manis, SK Manir, SK Tengku Ampuan Mariam, SK Kedai Buloh, SK Tok Dir, SK Pusat Kuala Ibai, SK Seri Budiman and SK Gong Tok Nasek.
Recently, SK Sultan Sulaiman 1 and SK Paloh here were also ordered closed by the department for the same reason.
