Just after 7:45 p.m., reports were received of a traffic collision  with two patients trapped in a vehicle under a big rig, according to Supervisor Choi with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “As of (8:05 p.m.), we have extricated one patient,” Choi said. Westbound lanes of Newhall Ranch Road were blocked, including the offramp to the 5 Freeway, as the vehicles were removed from the roadway. No other injuries were reported as of Friday night, according to Choi.

Wanted Suspect Arrested At Gunpoint On 5 Freeway After Assaulting LAPD Officer A wanted suspect was taken into custody at gunpoint on the 5 Freeway south of the Newhall Pass Monday evening after he allegedly assaulted a Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer earlier in the day. Around 4:50 p.m. Monday, deputies were made aware of a vehicle wanted for assault on a LAPD officer traveling eastbound on Soledad Canyon Road near Commuter Way in Canyon Country, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. A deputy was able to locate the vehicle on Newhall Avenue near Sierra Highway, and requested emergency backup to his location prior to conducting a felony traffic stop, according to officials.

BREAKING: Multiple vehicles collide in violent crash at Golden Valley Road and Sierra Highway in Newhall. Just after 8 p.m., reports were received of a traffic collision on Sierra Highway near Golden Valley Road, according to Supervisor Michael Pittman with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “We got the call from Sheriff (deputies) at 8:05,” Pittman said. “Three vehicles were reported and we added a second ambulance to the call, at a minimum there are two patients, however we are still on scene.”
