Santa Clarita Carjacking Suspect Arrested In Torrance Following Pit Maneuver Rollover Crash
A Santa Clarita carjacking suspect was arrested Sunday after a pursuit of the stolen vehicle ended in a pit maneuver rollover crash in Torrance, officials said.
Around 2 p.m. Sunday, deputies received reports of a stolen vehicle on the 17600 block of Paulene Court near Jake’s Way in Canyon Country, according to Lt. James Royal with the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station.
“We were gathering for a small family lunch at the time,” said Austin Dave, a son of the victim. “My mom had parked her car on Jake’s Way when she was approached by a man.”

One Freed From Vehicle Under Big Rig In Valencia Crash
One individual was freed from their vehicle after a Newhall Ranch Road crash in Valencia Friday night.
Just after 7:45 p.m., reports were received of a traffic collision with two patients trapped in a vehicle under a big rig, according to Supervisor Choi with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“As of (8:05 p.m.), we have extricated one patient,” Choi said.
Westbound lanes of Newhall Ranch Road were blocked, including the offramp to the 5 Freeway, as the vehicles were removed from the roadway.
No other injuries were reported as of Friday night, according to Choi.
