ROCKPORT The Medomak eighth grade and Camden-Rockport middle school softball squads squared off Wednesday, May 12 with the Riverhawks hitting the road for the contest and returning home with a victory.
Just as the game got underway, the players found themselves heavily rained on, though the murky weather did not dampen the spirits of either team. Half an hour later and the cold rain and dark sky was replaced by sunshine.
The visiting Riverhawks found itself prevailing 8-2 in its second contest of the season to boost its record to 2-0.
At the plate for Medomak were Kytana Williamson (single), Kendal Simmons (single, two walks), Audrey Jackson (single, triple, RBI), Lillian Harvey (single, walk, RBI), Lilly Christ (two walks), Arianna Sproul (single, two walks) and Maddy Wilshire (hit by pitch).

Pop Smoke was murdered last year in an apparent robbery gone deadly wrong while the rapper stayed at an Airbnb rental. A detective for the Los Angeles Police Department recently testified in the ongoing criminal case connected to the murder. According to his testimony, a 15-year-old was allegedly the one to pull the trigger, though the death of the popular rapper hadn’t been the teen’s original goal.

Los Angeles, CA – Pop Smoke (real name Bashar Barakah Jackson) was shot and killed at a Hollywood Hills home in February 2020, just as his career was about to explode. Roughly five months later, the Los Angeles Police Department arrested multiple people for the murder, including two juveniles.

New York Daily News now reports a detective involved in the case testified in court on Friday (May 7) and revealed the group of teens believed to be responsible for the killing were desperate to steal Pop Smoke’s diamond-studded Rolex. The alleged triggerman was also just 15 years old.
The investigator said they had their eyes on Pop Smoke’s Cuban link chain but only managed to get the watch, which they then resold for a mere $2,000.
Pop Smoke was gunned down by a 15-year-old shooter who ambushed the Brooklyn rapper with a group of teens bent on stealing the singerâs diamond-studded Rolex, a detective testified Friday.
The home intruders also were after the rapperâs Cuban link chain but apparently only managed to swipe the luxury timepiece, which they later resold for $2,000, the detective said.
The teen who pulled the trigger, the youngest of the four defendants now facing murder and robbery charges in the case, allegedly admitted his role in the Hollywood Hills slaying during a recorded interview with a cellmate at a juvenile detention center last May.

During a testimony from an LAPD detective as part of a preliminary court hearing on Thursday, a witness account of Pop Smoke’s fatal shooting was detailed.

New York Daily News reports Det. Christian Carrasco broke down the series of events that led to Pop’s death at 20 on Feb. 19, 2020. Taking to the witness stand, he said the intruders broke into the Airbnb house Pop where was staying in the early hours of the morning, using a window on the second floor. The “Dior” rapper was showering at the time, and a woman who was staying with him at the time had a gun held to her head.
