WALDOBORO In a Busline League showdown Thursday, May 6 in Waldoboro, the Medomak eighth grade softball team earned a dominating victory at home against Oceanside.
The host Riverhawks were able to overpower the Mariners defensively to collect a 15-1 victory.
After each inning, Medomak Valley held advantages of 5-0, 6-1, 9-1, 15-1 and 15-1.
The contest began with a trio of strikeouts for Medomak defensively, with Kytana Williamson pitching, before Williamson and Audrey Jackson each singled. Skylar Hills drove both runners in with a double. Erica Waite reached base on a walk with the bases loaded, and Maddy Wilshire reached base on a fielder’s choice.

Over one year after the Brooklyn rapper was fatally shot during a home invasion, a preliminary hearing was held in Los Angeles on Thursday (May 6) during which the first witness, Det. Christian Carrasco, took the stand.
According to the LAPD detective (via the
New York Daily News), Pop Smoke (born Bashar Jackson) was taking a shower at his rented mansion in the Hollywood Hills on Feb. 19, 2020 when masked men stormed through a second-story balcony. One intruder allegedly held a semiautomatic firearm to the forehead of a woman who was in Jackson’s bedroom while the other men rushed into the adjoining bathroom.

Pop Smoke was gunned down by a baby-faced 15-year-old shooter who ambushed the Brooklyn rapper with a group of teens bent on stealing the singer’s diamond-studded Rolex, a detective testified Friday.
The home intruders also were after the Canarsie-bred rapper’s Cuban link chain but apparently only managed to swipe the luxury timepiece, which they later resold for just $2,000, the cop said.
The trigger teen, the youngest of the four defendants now facing murder and robbery charges in the case, allegedly admitted his role in the shocking slaying during a recorded interview with a cellmate at a juvenile detention center last May.
