Police say a woman used a hypodermic needle she claimed was infected with AIDS to rob a convenience store in Massachusetts on Monday.
Officers in Raynham received a 911 call around 6:10 p.m. reporting a robbery at the Seasons Corner Market on New State Highway, the town’s police chief, James Donovan, said in a statement.
The woman is accused of brandishing a needle she claimed was infected with AIDS and leaving the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the statement. Someone took the license plate number of the suspect’s car and gave it to police.

MARION An East Wareham woman has been charged with robbery by Raynham Police after she allegedly tried to rob a convenience store at needle-point and led State Police in a car chase which ended on Front Street on Monday night.
According to police scanner reports, State Police chased the driver, later identified at Ashley Demers, 34 of East Wareham, through Marion before she crashed into a stone wall outside of 448 Front Street.
Raynham Police said they received a 911 call at approximately 6:07 p.m. reporting a robbery at the Seasons Corner Market in Raynham.
Police say a description was given of an adult female suspect, later identified as Demers, who brandished a needle she claimed to be infected with AIDS before leaving with cash.
