Mr. Srinivas assured the residents of all help from the State government and asked them not to panic, but to cooperate with the health and municipal officials to improve the situation.

Three persons from Gorakallu and one from Adoni reportedly died due to diarrhoea. However, medical and health officials maintained that the deaths were not due to consumption of contaminated drinking water.
