Reporter the sinkhole opened up the pavement in this southbound lane just the other side of the bridge over windy run in arlington. Road crews closed all the inbound lanes starting at 123 and then pushed cars even farther back to the beltway. Its very unfortunate. It points out how important the gw parkway is as a commuter route into the district. Reporter northbound is open. And the president at one point breezed right past the sinkhole heading for bethesda. Her name is peggy young. Shes 42 years old and she says when she was pregnant in 2006, ups discriminated against her because she was unable to carry packages more than 20 pounds.
