R Mahalakshmi COIMBATORE: A woman police constable attached to the Coimbatore rural armed reserve police ended her life by hanging on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as R Mahalakshmi, 25, of Kaliamman Kovil Street at Kenjampatti in Madurai district. She had been working at the Coimbatore rural armed reserve police since 2018. She was residing at police quarters in Uppilipalayam. Police said Mahalakshmi was in love with police constable Arunkumar who was also attached to the rural armed reserve police. Arunkumar hailed from Tirunelveli district. Mahalakshmi and Arunkumar belonged to different castes. The parents of Arunkumar came to know about the love affair and opposed it.
