Prayagraj: Be it spiritual matters or affairs of the world, no journey is complete without food and cooks are an indispensable part of any culture or event. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that majority of the akharas, religious and spiritual camps travelling from one state to another to attend big religious congregations also travel with a team of professional chefs and trained staff to prepare their meals.
At a time when over 400 religious and spiritual groups and organsiations are camping at the ongoing Magh Mela, majority of the organisations have a group of 12 to 15 trained staff including chief chef who decide and prepare meals for the staff of the camp as well as devotees taking prasad (feast).

Bhagwat Das popularly known as ‘Chai, Coffee Wale Baba’ has become a centre point of attraction since he serves tea or coffee to all the devotees who visit his tent at Tapaswi Nagar on Mela campus.
PRAYAGRAJ: The Magh Mela at Prayagraj, a city known for having cosmic powers, witnesses devotees taking a dip at Sangam, the confluence of the three holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati. Pilgrims bathe in the sacred waters even in the biting cold to cleanse themselves of sins and for seeking salvation.
The saints and seers having their camps on the Mela ground are a major attraction for devotees seeking spiritual guidance and blessings.
PRAYAGRAJ: Continuing with the decades-old legacy, Bhoole Bhatke Shivir, also known as Lost & Found camp, is all set to serve millions of pilgrims arriving for the Magh Mela, with its team of volunteers.
Its volunteers have been reuniting people who get separated from their families in fairs like Magh Mela, Ardh Kumbh and Maha Kumbh, ever since its founder Raja Ram Tiwari started the camp in 1946 on mela campus.
When Tiwari died in August, 2016 at the age of 88, his son Umesh Tiwari took over the organisation.
Unfortunately, the wife of Raja Ram Tiwari, Shanti Devi (90), who too assisted her husband in reuniting families for more than 30 years, breathed her last at Gaure Poora Badal, Raniganj in Pratapgarh district on Tuesday evening.
