Like a river and started freezing and it was gushing from a broken water main. It was a transmission main and there was no customer complains of low service or loss of service. But the impact on the morning commute was severe the break was discovered at 6 00 this morning and police shut down all 12 lanes of boulevard and traffic came to a stand still and clogged side streets as drivers searched for a way around and crews got the water shut off at 8 15. And traffic was allowed on the outer lane a while later. If it had simply cracked the repair would have been much faster. We are able to clean up the middle lanes well have the middle lane back open. Sometime later tonight. Right. Probably 8 00, 9 00, the water main is under the Center Median if it was under the road surface the repairs could take a month or more.
