Three of the four sides that qualified for the 2022 IHF Women’s Youth (U18) World Championship semi-finals got here with a six-game winning streak, while only one of the four sides – the Netherlands – have lost a game so far.
Denmark will be favoured against a Netherlands side who will be missing one of their top players, while the Republic of Korea eye to avenge the semi-final loss against Hungary from four years ago, at Poland 2018.
The first Denmark side to ever win the IHF Women’s Youth (U18) World Championship, in 2006, had stalwarts like Sandra Toft, Lærke Møller, Mie Augustesen or Line Jørgensen in the squad.
The second gold medal in the competition came in 2012, when Anne Mette Hansen, Line Haugsted, Freja Cohrt Kyndbøl or Nadia Offendal were in the roster.
Denmark, Egypt, Iceland and the Republic of Korea are the teams who have already qualified for the quarter-final phase, after some superb handball, which saw them avoid defeat in the competition so far.
But the other four quarter-final spots are up for grabs at the 2022 IHF Women’s Youth (U18) World Championship, with no room for mistake for contenders like Hungary and France.
