IRVING, Texas – The Kansas rowing team placed a total of 25 student-athletes on the 2021 Academic All-Big 12 Rowing Team, as announced by the conference office on Thursday. A total of seven Jayhawks earned 4.0 GPAs – Kai Alexander, Danielle Brunig, Katie Donnellan, Lauren Fee, Julia Isbell, Jenna Lenherr and Emma Yowell. These women have put great work into emphasizing the student part of student-athlete. They have excelled in the classroom during a very challenging time for higher education and found a way to continue to improve. They have represented Kansas Rowing very well as we continue to pursue success in the classroom, on the water and in life!
KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas rowing team celebrated senior day in true winning fashion after defeating Kansas State in the Sunflower Showdown on Saturday morning on the waters of Wyandotte County Lake. Only two of the four races in the Drake Dual were launched and due to wind conditions later on in the morning the remaining races versus Drake were canceled.
Kansas’ Third Varsity Four and Third Varsity Eight also competed in an unofficial, exhibition capacity on the day. I am grateful to those that made today possible, racing at home is pretty great. We had so many young Jayhawks get their chance to gain racing experience. They understood what all of the hard work has allowed them to do.

IRVING, Texas – Kansas rowing notched the first weekly honor of the season as the Second Varsity Eight (2V8) boat was named the Big 12 Boat of the Week on Thursday morning, as announced by the league office.
In their first regatta of the season against Oklahoma, the 2V8 lineup of sophomore Ashley McCaulley (coxswain), senior Anna Van Driel (stroke), junior Lily Thomas, senior London Acree, sophomore Ava Winkels, sophomore Grace Wallrapp, junior Addie Kershner, freshman Arianna McCue, and senior Katie Donnellan (bow) finished first with a time of 6:54.59. The Ad Astra’s mark left the Sooners behind with a time of 7:09.34.
