Albert Beyda has always appreciated a good game of basketball but never paid much attention to the court on which it was played. That changed in 2017 when he became the proud owner of AC Beyda, a premier athletic court construction company.
The company was started three generations ago, by Beyda’s wife’s grandfather, Moish Molcho, who came to America from Israel with $100 in his pocket and a will to succeed. He took a job as a garbage man to earn money, and from there he got into construction. While building his business, Moish sacrificed years away from his family, even missing the birth of his youngest daughter. He succeeded in establishing a successful company which he managed for many years, and when it came time to sell, he hoped it would remain in his family.

On Motzei Shabbat, January 9, Yachad New Jersey will host its annual gala, celebrating exceptional honorees and the entire Yachad community dedicated to enriching the lives of Jewish individuals with developmental disabilities. The event will take place virtually to maintain the safety of all participants, and while it might look different this year, it promises to be as meaningful as always.
At a time when so many of us are feeling isolated, Yachad has worked harder than ever to bring people together. New Jersey Director Raquel (Rocky) Selevan said despite the challenges presented by the pandemic, the organization has managed to grow its programming, finding creative ways to continue providing the community with the services they want and need.

Going once, going twice…it’s auction time at J Greenstein & Company, the only auction house in the United States solely devoted to the sale of antique Judaica. Founded in 2004 by Jonathan Greenstein, the Judaica retail gallery and auction house focusses on antique Jewish ritual objects and art from the 1600s to 1938.
Greenstein’s passion for Judaica started when he was 14 and had a part-time job at an antique shop in Brooklyn. At the time, silver was extremely valuable and every Jewish lady thought to sell her grandfather’s kiddush cup. “My boss didn’t feel right melting down Jewish artifacts, nor did I,” said Greenstein, “so instead he paid my salary in silver and that’s how my collection began.” Thirty-eight years and 77 auctions later, Greenstein has become the “go-to guy” when it comes to authenticating antique Judaica.

Marla Rottensteich, founder of Mekor Fitness LLC, a studio for women in Edison, has re-imagined her place in the world of fitness. Like so many companies, Marla was forced to close due to the pandemic, leaving her searching for new opportunities to rebrand her business.
Despite the challenges of 2020, Marla transformed 2020 into a positive experience by creating a women’s-only fitness program based on 20 minutes of exercise a day, over a 20-day challenge, costing $20. The 20-20-20 program is designed around efficiency, accountability and affordability, she explained.
The 20-20-20 program requires no equipment and offers four to five workouts per day for all fitness levels.
