Raghurama Krishnam Raju To Be Examined At Secbad Army Hospital: Supreme Court

May 17, 2021, 15:52 IST NEW DELHI: YSRCP rebel MP K Raghurama Krishnam Raju who is fighting tooth and nail to avoid jail, moved the Supreme Court for bail against the Andhra Pradesh High Court orders which refused to grant him bail after he was arrested on Sedition charges by the AP CID on Friday.  The Court on Monday while hearing his special leave petition allowed the medical examination of the MP to be conducted at the Army Hospital at Secunderabad in Telangana and stated that the expenses of the treatment must be borne by the MP himself. A division bench of the SC comprising Justice Vineet Saran and Justice BR Gavai while passing the orders directed the officials to take him to the Army Hospital, Secunderabad, for examination and the same would be treated as judicial custody. A judicial officer who will be with the petitioner during the examination should be nominated by the Telangana High Court, it said in its order.
