Tickets are on sale now for the Historic Holmes Theatre's 20th anniversary season, which starts next month with a Sept. 10 outdoor concert by Post Traumatic Funk Syndrome and concludes on May 20, 2023, with a Doobie Brothers tribute concert, "Takin' it to the Streets."
Rustin Lippincott and Elle LaMere started work this month as the Holmes Theatre's new executive director and marketing manager, respectively. Lippincott has already settled in at his new home in Detroit Lakes, while LaMere is living with family in Osage.
The final two performances of "The Music Man Jr.," set to take place tonight (July 22) at 7 p.m. and Saturday, July 23 at 2 p.m. in Detroit Lakes' Historic Holmes Theatre, have been canceled "due to COVID," according to Holmes Theatre director Amy Stoller Stearns. A makeup date of Wednesday, July 27 has been scheduled, with tickets from both the canceled shows to be honored for the 7 p.m. performance.
Detroit Lakes' Live at the Lodge Thursday concert series was severely curtailed by the COVID pandemic, with just two concerts held last summer, and none the summer before that. Now, they're back and partnering with the Detroit Lakes Noon Rotary's Trucks & Tunes to present live music on alternating Thursdays this summer, June 16 through Sept. 1.
