Four-vehicle crash: Three ambulances called to scene

Ambulance NSW confirmed they have treated and transported two people to Tweed Heads Hospital, while another two were treated but did not require further medical assistance. It is understood police are investigating the cause of the incident.    Original story: Emergency services, including police and ambulance crews, are at the scene of a multi vehicle crash on Tweed Valley Way this morning. Ambulance NSW confirmed they were called around 10am and had three road crews at the incident which is believed to have occurred at the intersection of Tweed Valley Way and Smith St, South Murwillumbah.

Man's quick thinking saves unconscious mate from car fire

Premium Content Subscriber only Emergency services first responders have praised the quick thinking of a Lismore man who pulled his unconscious mate from a burning car on Friday afternoon. Ambulance NSW said the man s fast thinking at the Ross St, Lismore Heights address undoubtably saved his friend from serious injury, perhaps even death. Paramedics were on scene to treat the man for smoke inhalation and he was then transported to Lismore Base Hospital. Fire and Rescue Lismore Station Officer Adam Cormick said when they arrived at the Lismore Heights residecne at 1.39pm, they found the front of the motor vehicle on fire.

Elderly man flown from rural property by rescue helicopter

Premium Content Subscriber only An 87-year-old man is at Lismore Base Hospital after paramedics from Ambulance New South Wales and Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter gave him urgent medical treatment. It is understood a road ambulance was called around 7.30am on Monday, to an address in Oak St, Bonalbo. According to Ambulance NSW, the man, 87, was suffering from a medical condition, Around 8:40am this morning the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter was tasked by New South Wales Ambulance to the incident. The patient was treated on scene by NSWA paramedics and the Helicopter Critical Care Medical team. The man, 87, was then flown to Lismore Base Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.

Man flown to hospital after being struck by falling tree

Premium Content Subscriber only A man cutting down a tree has suffered significant foot injuries after the tree crushed his leg. The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by New South Wales Ambulance to attend to a man whose leg was badly crushed by a falling tree on a property at Rocky River west of Uralla at 12.30pm on Tuesday. According to Ambulance NSW, one road crew was also called to attend along with the Helicopter crew. The injured man, 59, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics who were notified shortly after 12pm and arrived a few minutes before the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team.
