About $677,000 has been awarded to the East Alton Wood River High School district. The money comes through the ESSER II grant, which is part of the CARES Act funding. These emergency relief funds are to address the impact that COVID-19 has had, and continues to have, on elementary and secondary schools across the Nation.
Superintendent John Pearson tells The Big Z some of the money will be spent on area microphones, webcams, and PA systems for classrooms, essentially building a TV studio to enhance remote learning capabilities.
