But as we go through the week it will gradually cool off and were even watching out for some nearby rain chances. It doesnt look like well see a lot of that here in the bay area but take a look at these highs, reach into the 80s. Well talk more about this coming up. Mike, any issues for the Early Morning commute . Kari, for the Early Morning commute, yes. Theres something up in the north bay. Lets take a big look and were not seeing the slowing out of the altamont just yet. Maybe some people are taking advantage of the time change. Im happy to have another hour. Also still very chilly as you head out the door. More clouds moving in today will keep the temperatures more steady. The rain coming in by friday and looks to wrap up earlier than we originally thought and moving out by saturday morning. Here is what youre feeling as you head out the door. Gusts even this morning and that red flag warning has been extended until 5 00 this evening. Warm temperatures will continue today as we will have some calmer weather by the end of the week. Well take a look at all of this in the forecast coming up. Mike, how is it looking for the morning commute . Its looking calmer as well. Observing, very calm in general. Green spencers around the bay, oakland toward 23rd a lot less slowing than before. We think those crews might be clearing earlier even though theyve been given permission later. 5 00 right now. Covid cases in a nationwide surge. This map shows much of the midwest covered in red meaning a widespread number of new cases. Dark orange shows a significant surge. Thats most of the east coast along with parts of texas which just hit 1 million cases. California a lighter orange but cases here are also on the rise. The cdc has put out its strongest guidance yet on mask wearing citing growing evidence a mask can help protect a person wearing it. The cdc says adopting universal mask wearing policies could help future help prevent future lockdowns. As San Francisco struggles to get ahead of rising covid cases, leaders reopening rolling back plans.
