After Goa, the cyclone targeted the Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri districts as it moved towards Raigad, Mumbai, Thane and Palghar districts while whirling towards the Gujarat south coast where it is expected to make a landfall on early Tuesday, according to the IMD.

Mumbai: Prioritize railway employees as frontline workers and inoculate them, says Western Railway With the total number of COVID-19 cases crossing 95,000 within the Indian Railways, one of the countryâs largest employers is worried. Now, they are urging different state governments to prioritize all railway employees as frontline workers (FLW) and inoculate them. One such letter was written on May 14, by the General Manager of Western Railway (WR) to Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte. This comes at a time when one of the biggest unions of National Federation of Indian Railwaymen (NFIR) spoke to the Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and other top officials from the Indian Railways earlier this week.

In continuation to this, Western Railway has run 98 parcel trains from 1 st April, 2021 to 10 th May, 2021 to transport essential commodities to various parts of the country. During this period, the loading in goods trains recorded 8 million tonnes as compared to 5.22 million tonnes in the corresponding period of last year, which is an increase of 53.26%. These achievements have been made possible due to the able guidance, motivation & continuous monitoring by Alok Kansal - General Manager of Western Railway.
