and roz plater has more. reporter: montgomery county police say the alleged murder- for-hire scheme was for drugs and money. investigators say the suspect this is this man, 42-year-old richard boyd jr., headed for divorce and allegedly asked an acquaintance to kill his estranged wife. police say he met with the man at his home yesterday morning and gave him cash and oxycontin tablets. he didn t know the acquaintness had tipped off police already. like a lot of people, his reaction at first was fear and he was he found what he was being asked to do shock, and to some degree, unbelievable, but when he realized that he believed the threat was real, he did the right thing and contacted police immediately. reporter: now, boyd was arrested last night and is being held without bond, charged with solicitation of murder and distribution of a dangerously-controlled item. to prince georges county now where two men were found shot in bowie. police were called to the scene of
