The problem is there are too many empty classrooms. Enrollment is down. The district is losing money. A lot of parents in the south bay are worried about several Elementary Schools that could be shutting down soon because of a 12million budget deficit because of declining enrollment. The Oak Grove School district in south san jose will be closing several Elementary Schools and moving those students to other campuses. The goal is to save money as the district deals with a serious budget deficit. District leaders have identified eight Elementary Schools that may be shut down. I just got here. The verdict of the trial of the man who murdered kate steinle, he was acquitted on murder and manslaughter. He was convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Kpix 5s andria borba reports. Reporter six days of deliberations in the case of Jose Ines Garcia zarate ended with a hug between the suspect and his public defender Matt Gonzalez. Two years after kate steinle was killed on pier 14, the only guilty verdict for zarate was for being a felon in possession of a firearm. The verdict that came in today was not one we were hoping for.
