This is a story we first told but yesterday. The Alameda County Transportation Commission says it will no longer challenge the results from measure b1. The measure which would have have meant billions for transportation projects lost by a razorthin margin. The commission wanted to spend nearly 5,000 per day for a hand recount. Elections officials said the measure probably wouldnt get enough votes. Pesky birds have been a thorn in the sign for barts new extension to silicon valley.
