For the first time in the organization’s six-season history, the Jefferson City Renegades are headed to the MINK League Championship Series. The Renegades punched their ticket by claiming the South Division championship Tuesday at the Joplin Outlaws, jumping out to a big lead early and then holding on late for a 9-5 victory.
Step 1 was securing a home MINK League playoff game for the Jefferson City Renegades. Step 2 was winning it. And the Renegades put together one of their most complete efforts of the season Monday night en route to a 9-4 first-round victory against the Sedalia Bombers at Vivion Field.

The plan for Saturday night’s game against the Joplin Outlaws changed Saturday morning when the Jefferson City Renegades found out they did not hold the potential tiebreaker against the Outlaws. Instead of business as usual, the Renegades used Saturday’s contest to knock some rust off for the guys who have not seen as much playing time lately as the team prepares for the start of the MINK League playoffs Monday.
The Jefferson City Renegades have put together their best season yet in the organization’s short history, and there’s one major reason to be credited. The Renegades brought a roster of roughly 30 players into the season, and they wrapped up their final game of the regular season Saturday with 27 of those guys still showing up every day with the same goal of winning.
