ASRB Recruitment Exam: Registration Closes Next Week

The ARS exam is held for the selection of Scientists. STO examination will be held for selection to Senior Technical Officer post at ICAR headquarters and its research institutes. Candidates with Master s degree are eligible for all the exams. The online examination will be conducted in the designated Centres/cities at single or multiple venues. The questions of the Examination will be available in bilingual form i.e. in Hindi and English medium. The applicants will have to indicate their medium of Examination in the online application form itself, the Board has said. Promoted In case of any discrepancy between English and Hindi versions of the Notification/ advertisement / information, the English version as available on the Website of the Board will be treated as final, it has added.

Mahadevappa, retired Vice-Chancellor of the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Dharwad, passed away at his residence in Mysuru early on Saturday. He was 84. Prof. Mahadevappa, a Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri awardee, who is acknowledged for his research in developing improved rice varieties for cultivation in the State, is survived by his wife, son, and daughter. Sources close to the family said Prof. Mahadevappa had been ailing for some time now. The body was kept at his residence in Lakshmipuram, behind RTO West office, in Mysuru for public viewing on Saturday. The last rites will be performed at his native village of Madapura in Chamarajanagar on Sunday.

A master in the field of Agricultural Science, Mahadevappa was also admired for his service-mindedness. In his death we have lost a great agricultural scientist, Yediyurappa said in his message. Popularly known as the Father of Hybrid Rice , M Mahadevappa died on Saturday. Mahadevappa who was born in Madapura in Karnataka s Chamarajanagar district was a renowned Agriclutultural scientist. He began his career as a Senior Researcher in Mysuru s Central Food Technological Research Institute and went on to succeed in developing high-yielding hybrid varieties of rice and jowar.
